FACT: Some students struggle with writing—whether it’s writing to a prompt or when given choice in writing topics and styles.  That’s because, for some, writing feels more like a chore than a pleasure. Years and years of research has taught us that there are many ways to help students grow as writers. Writing volume is one way—it is one of the best interventions that is also tied to really good instruction.  Teachers in grades PreK-grade 8, please join me as we name 10+ ways to increase writing volume, engagement, and stamina. You’ll leave the session with books, text types, prompts, and activities to launch and sustain writing across the school year.
