Analyzing the Effectiveness of Literacy Instruction in Your School or District
With only so many hours in a day, the question that we must ask ourselves is: “How do we know that we are putting our efforts into those things that will make the biggest impact on student learning?” During this session, we will discuss how schools can evaluate their current literacy instructional practices and plan for higher impact instruction moving forward.
For years, schools have been working overtime to identify and meet the needs of students both socially and academically. With only so many hours in a day, the question that we must ask ourselves is: “How do we know that we are putting our efforts into those things that will make the biggest impact on student learning?” When it comes to literacy, all aspects of our approach, from schedules to resources to strategies and beyond, must be examined because, frankly, what we have been doing, as a nation, has not been working well. During this session, we will discuss how schools can evaluate their current practices and plan for higher impact instruction moving forward.
